WHAT’S MISSING FROM YOUR HAIRCARE ROUTINE?

Is your hair care routine still ONLY shampoo and conditioner? Well, welcome to 2024. Wash and condition just don’t cut it anymore! Your hair can change with the weather, your diet, age, sleep schedule, with your whole routine. These changes often mean that you notice new (and possibly not so favorable) characteristics about your hair, so let’s get into how to combat them.

1) Controlling Frizz

One of the most common hair concerns that EVERYONE seems to struggle with at some point is frizz. Frizziness of the hair is the effect of a lack of moisture. Over time, things like increasing your water intake or eating a more nutrient-rich diet can keep your hair more hydrated as it grows out. In the meantime, however, using a hair mask can increase your hair’s moisture retention after the first use. A hair mask is used similarly to a face mask, (the rinse-off kind), in that its benefits are more concentrated, and you’ll be leaving it on for a longer period of time. It can be used following your conditioner or instead of one. Take note that the full benefits of the mask do need some time to sit on the hair and be absorbed. Your stylist can make recommendations as to how exactly you incorporate the mask into your routine!

2) Detangling Experience

For those who do NOT see themselves making the time to let a hair mask sit on their head, (it usually needs between 10 and 30 mins), some options still work for you! Something like a detangler that you spray while your hair is wet, before brushing can also have some added benefits. A lot of the detanglers you’ll find on the market now, like our Angelo David detangling spray, have some conditioning ingredients in them! This is because properly conditioned hair is much easier to brush through and less likely to knot or break from brushing. So not only does it add to the detangling experience but these added ingredients will still protect your hair from other frictions like sleep and styling.

3) Umbrella Treatment

A leave-in conditioner can have many similar benefits too. While it’s not solely intended for detangling, the conditioning ingredients that protect your hair from damage will make it a bit easier to brush through. Essentially, well-conditioned hair is less likely to knot and tangle so you may experience easier brushing as an effect of use. The leave-in conditioner will often be equated to sort of an umbrella treatment, addressing many concerns instead of just one like a detangler. The Angelo David leave-in treatment is hydrating, smoothing, AND detangling all in one. Perfect for anyone longing for healthier-looking hair!

No matter what hair concerns you have, there’s a perfect product for you! You just have to find it and incorporate it into your routine. So no more shampoo-condition-done, because that two-step routine is so dated. Giving one of these products a few uses can bring your hair to life! If you leave the salon loving your hairstyle, don’t hesitate to ask your stylist for recommendations. They want you to love your hair just as much as you do and they know what works.
